Biography

Dr Ross Smith is a Professor in the School of Business Information Technology, RMIT University, working at the city campus, Melbourne Australia. Since completing his doctoral studies in computational physics at Melbourne University, Australia, in 1977, he has been a member of faculty at the Australian National University, Swinburne University of Technology, Deakin University and RMIT University. Ross has researched and published widely in systems methodologies and requirements engineering. He has a particular interest and background in the application of Action Research (AR) approaches within the Information Systems discipline, most recently in the application of AR to investigate issues surrounding the support of Communities of Practice in knowledge intensive environments.
