Biography

Yvonne Thayer is a career public educator having worked in school districts and a state Department of Education in the United States. Currently she is with the Southern Regional Education Board as Director of Leadership Development. Her work has focused on school improvement, and her publications direct school leaders on actions to improve the instructional programme. AS Director of Adult Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia, she refocused state-wide professional development from traditional meetings and workshops to a Community of Practice using synchronous and asynchronous technologies. She holds a doctorate in Adult Education from Columbia University and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech.
